DigiTimes recently reported that shipments Chromebook launch in the second half of 2013 would have increased two-or even three-fold compared with shipments in the first half of 2013.
DigiTime source of the component supplier indicates that the current Chromebook manufacturers like Acer, Lenovo, HP and Samsung will improve ordering of Chromebook Chromebook ODM such as Quanta Computer and Compal Electronics.
HP and Lenovo are expected to increase the reservation Chromebook in the second half than the first half, while Acer and Samsung will increase dramatically ordering a row up to three and four times, which helped boost Chromebook shipment in the second half.
The Chromebook manufacturer, along with Taiwanese PC manufacturer, ASUS is also expected to introduce a new Chromebook models to the market in the latter half of this year.
The report speculated that the manufacturers switched to Chromebook to counter the dominance of Microsoft's Windows 8 and the weak demand that affect the number of shipments. Inclusion of Intel and AMD to the market Chromebook is also referred to as the main contribution of the industry chose Chromebook.
Currently, Google's Chromebook, Acer and Samsung have filled 20-25% sub-notebook market U.S. $ 300 in the U.S., showed a sharp growth in sales in the retail segment.
