AMD Reaches 5 GHz Clock Speed With 8-Core Processor FX-9590

AMD announced the new FX-9590 processor with a clock speed of 5 GHz turbo. The eight-core CPU chip architecture brings 'Piledriver' is enhanced and supports overclocking.

CPU base clock speed of the FX-9590 is actually lower than 5 GHz but was able to reach that number with the help of Turbo Core technology. Another processor FX-9000 series is the FX-9370, which offers speeds up to 4.7 GHz turbo clock. AMD FX-9000 series announced the latest in E3 to position them as a gaming processor option.

AMD chose not to reveal the base clock of the processor socket AM3 + 'Vishera "this time; however, we suspect FX-9590 running at 4.75 GHz while the FX-9370 has a 4.5 GHz base clock.
